• A blazer or sport coat: €40 to €120 depending on fabric and condition

If you see something significantly below these numbers and the photos look good, move fast. If something is significantly above these numbers, make sure you understand why. Country of manufacture matters. Made in USA and made in Hong Kong pieces from the 1980s and early 1990s are generally more desirable than later pieces made elsewhere. Red Flags to Watch For

After doing this for years, these are the things that make me stop and think twice.

• Only one or two photos, none of the label
• A brand new looking item described as vintage without any explanation
• Wonky or uneven embroidery on the polo player logo
• Labels that look slightly off, wrong font, odd placement, strange stitching
• A seller with no reviews who is selling several designer items at once
• The price seems too good and the seller is vague when you ask questions

None of these things alone necessarily means a fake, but they are reasons to ask more questions rather than just clicking buy.

Tips for Communicating With Sellers

Do not be shy about messaging. Most genuine sellers on Vinted are regular people clearing out their wardrobe and they are usually happy to answer questions. Ask for extra photos. Ask where they bought the item originally. Ask about any flaws they did not mention. A seller who gives you clear, friendly answers and sends good photos without hesitation is a good sign. Vague or defensive responses are not.

Also, be polite when asking. I have seen people send quite aggressive messages demanding more photos as if the seller owes them something. They do not. A friendly tone gets better responses and better photos every single time.

Vinted can feel overwhelming when you start, but the more you look, the faster your eye develops. You start to recognise good pieces quickly, spot the dodgy listings faster, and get a feel for pricing. It takes a bit of time and a bit of patience.
